Miranda van Hooff PT PhD is an experienced health scientist and clinical epidemiologist in orthopedics and rehabilitation. She has a clinical background as a rehabilitation physiotherapist and as a policy advisor. Her strong clinical patient-centered perspective and understanding of medical policy and organizational culture helps her to focus on questions that matter to patients as well as society. Her research is focused on treatment outcomes, development of decision support (prognostic prediction), and the use of AI and medical technology in patients with musculoskeletal disorders.

 

She has extensive experience in coordinating (inter-)national clinical studies for which she also obtained research grants. As a co-supervisor she completed several PhD projects and has PhD projects that are still ongoing. Areas of expertise are clinical applied research, research methodology, outcomes and prognostic research, value-based healthcare (in networks), grant applications, real-world data, and healthcare and research policy.
